“Good morning USA, I’ve got a feeling that it’s gonna be a wonderful day, The sun in the sky has a smile on his face, And he’s shining a salute to the American race, Oh boy it’s swell to say, Good morning USA!” – Stan Smith (American Dad)
1 week ago I kissed my dear old Ma and my awesome cat Artoo good bye and boarded my first A380 Airbus and made my way towards an exciting new adventure. I was bound for Las Vegas and an exciting new job opportunity. I was setting sail for a dream I’d had for many years, to live and work in the US.
After about 30 hours in either an airport or an airplane, I finally landed in Los Angeles.
I got though Immigration and Customs and met up with my boss.
After a small wait for our connecting flight to Las Vegas, our long journey was almost at an end. Some 45 minutes later we touched in Vegas and it was good to be back.
I was here 8 months ago, but that was for a holiday, this time was different and there was no time to waste.
We had to get to our factory where my boss had his furniture stored and then it was time move in. Jet lagged and not sure if I was tired or wide awake, we began moving furniture.
Finally after being awake for over 50 hours, we were finally moved in to what will now be my new home for the next god knows how many years!
After getting all our furniture in and making somewhere nice for our heads to go at night, it was finally time get some rest.
The next morning things were still buzzing, although the new house was clean, it just wasn’t up to anyone’s standards. We cleaned the entire house from top to toe.
We take cleaning very seriously around here, we even took the oven door off, dismantled it and cleaned the oven door inside and out! But that’s what happens when you’re sharing a house with an engineer!
So it’s been a week in Vegas and work is busy, but I’m off to Arizona in a few days, this really is going to be an exiting adventure. I really can’t wait to see where it takes me.
